Trusty Trivia: PAIN!!!

Hey smarty families! In particular, the parents and adults listening. If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s navigating the world of money. I hate to say it, but money is the number one thing that people in relationships argue over.
Yet, money is also something most people have a hard time communicating about. Which is why I’m so happy to recommend the Money for Couples podcast, hosted by Ramit Sethi. In each episode, Ramit helps couples stop fighting over money, improve communication, simplify budgeting, manage debt, and start building a shared financial future.
Money for Couples offers real, actionable advice with stories from real couples facing the same financial challenges you might be dealing with. Like a recent episode I heard about a couple that was constantly in debt because one of them couldn’t stop spending money and avoided talking about it.
Ramit approaches each situation without judgment, but rather with good, solid advice on how to educate yourself about money and build better financial habits. Oh, and Ramit even offers amazing tips on how to educate your kids about healthy money habits.
So search for Money for Couples wherever you’re listening to Who Smarted, and start building your rich life today. Hello, smarty pants. Welcome to Trusty Trivia Thursday. Today, we’re feeling our way through the topic of pain.
Before we begin, a soothing shout out to Samuel in Los Angeles, California. We hear you love Who Smarted because it gives you a lot of information in funny ways. You know what, Samuel? That is the perfect way to describe our show.
You get us, and we’re happy to keep making you laugh and learn. And now let’s take a not so painful look at some questions about pain. First question, what’s the name of the cells that detect pain in our body?
Is it A, taste buds, B, neurons, or C, nociceptors? Going with C, that’s absolutely correct. Nociceptors are the sensory neurons that respond to potentially damaging stimuli by sending pain signals. Next question, what’s the term for the inability to feel pain?
Is it A, analgesia, B, congenital insensitivity to pain, or C, anesthesia? Did you pick B? Spot on. Congenital insensitivity to pain is a rare condition where a person cannot feel physical pain. Last question, which of these is not a common type of pain?
A, acute, B, chronic, or C, telepathic? Did you pick C? That’s exactly right. Acute and chronic are real types of pain, but telepathic pain is not a thing. Painless performance, Smarty Pants. You’ve shown a high tolerance for pain knowledge.
Be sure to join us next Thursday for more stimulating facts and fun. Oh, want to learn more about how our bodies work? Check out our Pain episode in the Who’s Smarted Archives. Thanks for playing, Smarty Pants.
