Hello, SmartyPans. Welcome to Trusty Trivia Thursday. Today, we’re slithering into the slimy world of slugs. Before we begin, a special shout out to Lyndon and Elliot in Houston, Texas. We’re so glad you love listening to Who Smarted and that you really like the trusty narrator.
Hey, that’s me. Aw, thanks you two. And thanks for smarting with us. And now, let’s slide into some sticky questions about slugs. First question, what do we call a slug’s shell -less relatives? Is it A, a snail, B, a worm, or C, a caterpillar?
Did you go with A? Absolutely correct. Snails are essentially slugs with shells. Next question, what purpose does a slug’s slime serve? Is it A, to attract mates, B, it helps them move, or C, both A and B?
Did you choose C? Spot on. Slug slime helps slugs move and can also be used to attract mates. Last question, how many eyes does a typical slug have? Is it A, none, B, two, or C, four? Selecting B, exactly right.
Most slugs have two eyes, usually located on the tips of their upper tentacles. Slimy success, smarty pants. You’ve inched your way through our slug trivia. Be sure to join us next Thursday for more fascinating facts and fun.
Oh, curious to learn more about these gastropods? Check out our slugs episode in the Who Smarted archives. Thanks for playing, smarty pants. Keep your curiosity as sticky as slug slime and your knowledge growing like a garden.
