Monopoly

Activities

1.  Invent your own game!  You can create your own board like Elizabeth Magie or use one you already have.  Do you roll dice or draw cards?  What kind of pieces do you move around the board?  How do you win?

2.  If you have Monopoly at home, ask your adult if you can play with the money!  You could create your own store and pretend to sell items to your siblings or you could practice making change with an adult!

3.  Play Monopoly!  If the adult version takes to long for you, see if you can borrow a kids version!  Ask your adults to play with you for a family game night!

Monopoly has become the world’s most popular real estate game despite being one of the longest games to play.  But who invented Monopoly?  How did the properties get their names?  And how have the game pieces and rules changed over the years?
